Jessica is a freelance designer, researcher, rapporteur and futures strategist.
After graduating from Design Interactions at the RCA last summer Jessica
has been developing her practice working for various companies as a freelance
designer including SeymourPowellForesight and Appleyards crisis management.
She is currently a freelance designer/researcher for Sense Worldwide and
a weblog rapporteur for the “designing
safe living” research programme at the Institute for Advanced
Studies, Lancaster University.
She originally studied 3DDesign at Manchester Metropolitan University then
worked for various design studios including a stint at being a Critical
Studies teacher at Liverpool Hope University. She recently completed the
MA Design Interactions course at the Royal College of Art, London under
the tutelage of Professor Anthony Dunne, Fiona Raby, and Nina Pope.
During her course at the RCA, she worked with Michael Burton for FORESIGHT,
a government think-tank based at the Government Office for Science, (formerly
DTI) on a project dealing with
the future of obesity. This went on to inform her final year project
where she designed The FATE Institute, a future forecasting
institute based on a body of research entitled
“The future of self-knowledge” dealing with the cross pollination
of corporate forecasting, ancient divination and predictive gene testing.

experimental workshops and discussions.
